Hyundai Motor America announced on Thursday that it sales in November 2011 rose 22 percent compared to a year ago.
The South Korean largest automaker reported sales of 49,610 vehicles in November 2011, compared to 40,723 vehicles a year ago.
Hyundai's best selling car last month was the Sonata, which was closely followed by smaller Elantra compact sedan. Taking third spot was the Santa Fe SUV, which experienced a 12 percent decline in sales from a year ago.
Hyundai Accent performed well last month posting a 15 percent increase in sales. The Tucson CUV and Veracruz SUV registered sales increases of 35 and 36 percent.
Hyundai Genesis sales were down slightly from a year ago, while Equus luxury sedan recorded sales of 300 units. Hyundai Veloster had another great month with 2,538 units sold. Combined sales of Hyundai Veloster so far this year already reached well over 7,000 units sales mark.
Hyundai's year-to-date sales are up 21 percent from a year ago, totaling 594,926 units.
