Hyundai Cenntenial, HB20 win Car Of The Year awards

Two new Hyundai cars received highly-coveted "Car of the year" awards, while Veloster wins a "Best Sports Car" title!

The sporty Hyundai Veloster Turbo three-door coupe, which went on sale in the USA around a year ago, has just recently been named the "Best Sports Coupe" by Ruedas ESPN (major Spanish automobile radio show in the States).

The Veloster was priased for its unique styling, great handling and more than average performance coming out of its 1,6L turbo engine, which packs impressive 201 horsepower.


Slightly smaller in size and exclusive to the Brazilian consumers is the 2013 Hyundai HB20 hatchback, which has just recently been put on sale in Brazil.

Made in Brazil, the new sub-compact hatchback was named the "Car Of The Year" in Brazil which is the first of this kind of awards for the Hyundai brand in the South American markets.

Hyundai HB20 is the first of new Hyundai cars that are being readied for the Brazilian local market with more versions ofthe model scheduled to be launched early in 2013.

Following the five-door Hyundai HB20 was the HB20X crossover, which made its premiere last month, while the 4-door HB20 sedan is coming out during the first qurter of 2013.

The high-end Hyundai Equus, which is known also as Hyundai Cenntenial in the Middle East has also won the Car of the year award.

The Cenntenial luxury sedan was put on sale in the Middle East last year and since then its sales increased significantly. Hyundai did not reveal the numbers, but the company has told us the model has increased its year-to-date sales by more than 300%.

Another win for Hyundai vehicles is the award that was given to the new Hyundai Santa Fe SUV in the USA.

The stylish Santa Fe SUV was named  the "Utility Vehicle of the 42nd annual Miami International Auto Show".

Now that was quite a week for the Hyundai Motor brand and its high-quality cars and SUVs!
