Hyundai Motor America takes the wraps off its Veloster
Convertible Coupe Concept, which features a dual-function retractable
roof!
Penned by Hyundai's
North American design studio, the Veloster C3 (which stands for
Convertible 3-door) Roll Top represents the automaker's vision of an
affordable drop-top sports car.
The white painted show car
incorporates a cleverly designed dual-function power-retractable roof
which can be slid either back or forward to make some more room for
taller gadgets such as surfing boards or kayaks.
Styling-wise, the Veloster C3 Roll Top greatly resembles the new Veloster Turbo sports car.
The
concept car features a bold hexagonal front grille, sculpted side
skirts, 18-inch rubber and wheels, free flowing circular exhaust pipes
and diffuser vents in the lower rear fascia.
Under the hood, the Veloster C3 concept uses a well-known 1,6L turbo-charged GDI four-cylinder engine with 201 horsepower.
The unit features a twin-scroll turbocharger that when combined with the GDI system, results in instantaneous power delivery.
When Hyundai designers worked on their latest concept car, they were inspired by the proverb "A rolling stone gathers no moss".
"The
all-new Hyundai Veloster C3 Roll Top offers the "no strings attached"
freedom of a roll top convertible and customizable utility that fits an
everyday to a play day dual lifestyle," said Chris Chapman, Hyundai's
N.A. chief designer. [Source: Hyundai Motor America]
