New Kia Forte Review

2014 Forte, from Kia Motors America’s made its first appearance at the 2012 Los Angeles International Auto Show and the compact car is all set to enthrall the crowds with its unique features.

The small car is ready to hit the retailers in 2013. It is a replacement of the current Forte, which was a huge hit with tremendous sales since it was launched back in 2009.

The car has secured its place between the Rio sub-compact sedan and the Optima mid-size sedan, which boasts of being a best seller. Kia Forte has premium features, which are ready to surprise you.


Five passengers can comfortably be accommodated in this small car along with their belongings.

The body has been improved in many ways with it being lower, wider, and longer than its previous version. Also, passengers can expect better performance, more amenities, and more space when compared to the old Forte.

You can choose from the EX and LX levels in this car. It may be an all-new model but it is surely going to carry the same reputation of bringing premium features to its users for a completely comfortable experience.

Kia Forte engines

The LX model has a 1.8 liter engine and the EX model has a 2.0 liter standard engine. The horsepower with the base 1,8L unit is rated at 148 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 131 lb. ft. of torque at 4,700 rpm.

The EX model of the all new Kia Forte has a 173 horsepower engine at 6,500 rpm and 154 lb. ft. of torque at 4,700 rpm.

As aforementioned, the car is 1.2 inches longer, 0.2 inches wider, and 0.6 inches lower than the previous version. The wheel base if two inches longer and the front suspension is McPherson strut.

The car also comes with an improved steering feel. It offers electric power steering as opposed to the previous hydraulic system.

You can also go with the optional FlexSteer if you want so that you drive firmly. The controls include: Comfort, Normal, and Sport. Each mode requires a different steering effort.

Tires

The Forte LX model has 195/65R-15 tires. However, you can optionally choose 205/55R-16 tires mounted on 16-inch alloy wheels if you wish.

The EX model has the 55 series too. In this model the optional tires are on 17-inch alloy wheels. They are 215/45-17 tires.
