Hyundai Santa Fe wins first major award

The just recently-launched Hyundai Santa Fe Sport has barely been on sale for more than a month, but the compact crossover vehicle already received a major award.

The 2013 Santa Fe Sport was named the "Compact CUV of Texas", according to latest news from Hyundai Motor America!

The winner of this year's competition was decided upon by a panel of judges comprised of 50 of the industry's leading journalists.

To take the top spot in the competition, the Santa Fe sport had to beat several established rivals including the 2013 Mazda CX5, 2013 Subaru XV and Nissan Juke (all 2013 Model Year).

The Santa Fe Sport was praised for its stylish exterior and a range of fuel-efficient gasoline engines that deliver up to 33mpg on highway.

The Santa Fe's top engine is the all-new 2,0L four-cylinder turbo engine which generates 264 horsepower. It is mated to Hyundai's in-house developed 6-speed automatic transmission.
