Early look at the available color combinations of the Hyundai Kona 2018 (model year)…
The Hyundai Kona is still a couple of weeks away from its domestic market release in Korea, but it has been spotted several times during the testing phase in Europe.
With each new sighting, the Kona SUV was spotted in a variety of bright colors, from light blue, to blazing red, and even a rather funky shade of lime green.
- Update: 2018 Hyundai Kona colors revealed!!
There is a good chance that these exterior colors will be available when the new Hyundai Kona finally goes on sale in US and Canada, along with the standard white, black, and gray, as well as a couple of other surprises.
All told, we believe that there will be somewhere in the region of 8-10 different exterior colors made available, which means that there are still a few we have yet to see.
We also expect there to be two-tone options, where the roof will be a different color from the body, which is a look that we think is really cool.
Interior color choices
There should also be 2, or perhaps even 3, different interior colors to choose from, so plenty of chances to mix and match here.Hyundai have made it clear that they are going after a younger audience with the Kona, so we expect that the colors on offer will be vibrant and totally cool.
There are several different videos up on YouTube right now, including a few teaser videos released by Hyundai, where you can get a closer look at the colors.
We are especially partial to the light blue shade, which is borderline teal. The video for that one looks as though it might be part of a TV ad, as the Kona is being closely followed by another vehicle with a large mounted camera.
The Kona represents a bit of a departure for Hyundai in terms of design, and again, that is because they are going after a very definite target demographic with this release.
From what we have seen, the Kona will almost certainly appeal to the younger, hipper crowd, and these colors are going to help sell this model.
We think this could even be the Hyundai version of the Kia Soul, as that is how funky and cool we think this thing is.
Included in the new look is a very bold looking front face with a cascading grille and dual headlight set-up. Around back, the Kona appears to borrow some design elements from the Tucson.
There is also an extensive use of black plastic cladding that gives the Kona a very rugged, outdoorsy feel that is sure to appeal to the weekend warrior, whilst also making it look like a vehicle that can very much stand up to the rigors of everyday driving.
We think the 2018 Hyundai Kona looks like a fun vehicle that is going to appeal to the younger crowd, and we are closely following any and all new details prior to its release.
As soon as we learn anything new, we will pass it along, so watch this space.
